Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg inpatient position in Alaska, requiring an AK RN license and BLS & ACLS certifications.
Details
- Work in an inpatient Med/Surg setting with variable day and night shifts
- Care for patients across the lifespan, including post-surgical and behavioral health populations
- May work across adult, mother/baby, ortho, and pediatric Med/Surg sub-units
- Hospital setting in a remote location with provided shared housing
Requirements
- Active Alaska RN license in good standing required
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program (NLN approved)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required for the duration of assignment
- Preparedness to provide documentation of required competencies including IV/central line care, fall precautions, age-specific care, pain management, blood transfusions, restraints/seclusion, and end-of-life care
- Must pass a medication calculation test for adult and pediatric dosing upon arrival
Additional Information
- Initial orientation is held on Tuesday and Wednesday at start of assignment
- Shared housing with private bedrooms and common spaces is provided; no dogs permitted; travelers coordinate directly with housing
- Flight reimbursement is available for economy class airfare with submission of detailed flight and luggage receipts
- Flight itinerary must be provided one week prior to start; facility assists with airport pickup upon arrival
- Travelers may be eligible for return transportation at the end of contract except under special circumstances
- Facility is a designated H1-C critical shortage area and will consider international nurses with completed NCLEX, TOEFL, and Visa Screen
