Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Patient population includes diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out
• Patient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
• Schedule is 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active NY RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
• Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV insertion and maintenance
• Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and other non-invasive airway and oxygen delivery methods
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
• 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include caring for patients with respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and infectious conditions, as well as those experiencing substance withdrawal
• Utilization of Rapid Response and Code teams expected
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Any nursing uniform color is acceptable
