Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in New York, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
- Patient population includes diagnoses such as COPD, pneumonia, non-specific abdominal pain, cellulitis, and chest pain rule-out
- Patient ratios: 1:6 on days, 1:7 on nights, and 1:8 on weekends
- Schedule is 4x12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend (EOW) coverage required
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active NY RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Telemetry nursing experience required
- Proficiency in telemetry interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with blood product administration, central line care, PICC line management, and IV insertion and maintenance
- Experience managing BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula (HFNC), and other non-invasive airway and oxygen delivery methods
- Experience with isolation precautions and PPE
- 2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include caring for patients with respiratory, cardiovascular, neurological, and infectious conditions, as well as those experiencing substance withdrawal
- Utilization of Rapid Response and Code teams expected
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- Any nursing uniform color is acceptable
