Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a major cancer hospital and research center, requiring at least 2 years of RN experience and Epic proficiency.
Details
- Work in a mixed acuity MS/Tele unit serving both PCU and Med/Surg patients
- Oncology patient population; oncology experience is preferred but not required
- Patient ratio of 1:5
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
- Rotating day/night schedule possible — shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on staffing needs
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Epic EMR used; experience required
Requirements
- Active OH or Compact RN license required
- Current BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and tracheostomy management required
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- 2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the 2nd reference; coworker references are not accepted
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted
- Former facility employees are eligible for a travel assignment after a minimum 6-month separation from the facility
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with your application and is limited to 7 days or less for the contract
- Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be completed promptly after contract signing — candidates outside Ohio should be prepared to travel to an in-state fingerprinting location or complete a mailed fingerprinting packet as soon as possible
- Multiple parking permit options are available for purchase near the medical center, ranging from budget surface lot access with shuttle service to 24/7 garage access
