Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level III Trauma facility, requiring strong Neuro and Cardiac skills on 12-hour night shifts.
Details
- Acute care Med/Surg unit with telemetry capability on all 24 beds — heavy telemetry focus
- Adult patient population; travelers are not assigned pediatric patients
- 12-hour night shifts
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6 on nights, adjusted based on acuity
- Float requirement to all Med/Surg units and ICU (for Med/Surg overflow patients)
- Charting performed in Allscripts Sunrise EMR
- No IV team on unit — nurses expected to manage IV needs independently
- Level III Trauma Center
Requirements
- Active AZ or Compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- PALS preferred
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Strong Neuro and Cardiac nursing skills required
- BSN not required
Additional Information
- Support staff includes telemetry techs, charge nurses, HUCs, and PCTs
- Hospitalist available in-house 24/7
- Respiratory Therapy and Pharmacy available 24/7
- Nurse managers conduct rounds but do not provide direct patient care
- Scrubs in any color except all black; scrubs are not provided
- 13-week contract with an 8-hour orientation
