Description
American Traveler is seeking a Chemo Certified Oncology Infusion RN for an outpatient clinic position requiring at least 2 years of oncology experience and active ONS/ONCC chemotherapy certification.
Details
- Outpatient oncology and hematology infusion center setting
- Patients include adults with solid tumor diagnoses (breast, lung, colorectal, prostate, gynecologic, etc.), hematologic malignancies (lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma), and benign hematology conditions
- Services provided include chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, hydration, iron infusions, injections, supportive care, port access, central line management, and infusion reaction management
- No blood products or transfusions are administered at this location
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 5x8-hour shifts starting at 7:30 or 8:00 AM
- No weekend requirements
- No on-call requirements
- Charting is done in Epic/Excellian (Beacon); prior experience required
- Equipment includes implanted port access devices, central venous access devices, infusion pumps, CADD pumps, Dynamap vital sign monitors, and emergency medication supplies
- Floating within scope to meet facility needs is required
- Block scheduling can be accommodated
- 16-week contract length
Requirements
- Active MN RN license required; pending license accepted
- Current BLS and ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
- Minimum 2 years of oncology infusion nursing experience required
- Epic/Excellian (Beacon) experience required
- One supervisor reference required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to be eligible
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other infusion therapies, managing central venous access devices, and providing oncology-specific patient education and symptom management
- Scrub color is navy blue
- Parking is free in any unrestricted space
- Candidates who have previously worked at this facility as permanent staff or per diem must have been separated for at least 3 months from their last shift worked before being eligible
- RTO requests are ideally limited to no more than 5 days for the duration of the contract
- Pre-start orientation modules are required to be completed before the first day
