Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN with active State or Compact license and 2 years of L&D experience for a teaching hospital position.
Details
- Labor & Delivery unit within a teaching hospital setting
- Facility performs 200-300 births per month
- Cares for high risk antepartum and obstetrical triage patients
- Performs antepartum care and procedures
- Utilizes fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
- Administers anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
- Assists with high risk deliveries and circulates for C-sections
- Provides C-section recovery care and performs sterile vaginal exams
- Maintains central lines (CVC/PICC) and performs IV therapy/phlebotomy
- Day shift schedule with 3x12 hour shifts from 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Active State or Compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and FHM
- Charting system experience required, with EPIC experience preferred
- Isolation precautions and PPE knowledge required
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position
- Must reside at least 100 miles from the facility for consideration
- Former staff must wait at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- No travel pairs or groups accepted
- No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientation
- Onboarding requires completion of core items/labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- Orientation modules are completed onsite
