Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a float pool ICU position requiring Epic proficiency and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience, with floating across multiple ICU specialties.
Details
- Float pool position requiring rotation across multiple ICUs, including MICU, TICU, Neuro ICU, CIVCU, SICU, and Burn ICU
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
- Patient ratio of 1:2
- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday coverage required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Epic EMR experience required
Requirements
- Active LA RN license or Compact license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
- Certifications required: BLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: CCRN, CPI, and NIHSS
- Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
- Epic EMR proficiency required
- Proficiency in critical care skills including arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, vasoactive drip titration, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Two recent supervisor references required (dated within the last 12 months)
- Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
- Any license history issues must be disclosed along with a personal statement
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Former permanent employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible
- Candidates living within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at the local rate
- Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed for this assignment
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and are non-billable; RN modules typically range from 5–8 hours
- Charge nurse experience is preferred
