Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced travel RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring prior travel experience and the ability to float between ICU, ED, and MS units across two campuses.
Details
- Float pool role covering three units: ICU, ED, and MS — schedule is entirely dependent on unit need and candidates must be comfortable working in all three areas
- Floating may be required to a sister facility approximately 15 minutes from the main campus
- Acute care hospital setting
- ICU patient ratio is 1:2; ratios vary by unit
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM)
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Charting via MediTech Expanse
- Free parking available in any unrestricted space
Requirements
- Active CO RN license or a valid Compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
- Preferred certifications: NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and TNCC
- Experience with paracentesis/thoracentesis, intubation, central line placement, and arterial line placement
- Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
- Experience caring for ventilated patients
- All certifications and licensure must be submitted for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidate must be fully comfortable floating between ICU, ED, and MS — no guaranteed time within a single specialty
- Rapid response team is composed of members from each department
- Flu shot required during flu season (October 1 – March 31)
- Scrub color is employee preference
- Local candidates are accepted
- RTO is limited to one request, no RTO within the first two weeks of assignment, no more than 10 days total, and no full calendar weeks of RTO
- All RTO requests must be finalized and submitted at the time of application
