Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU/CCU night shift position in Bowling Green, KY, requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and active KY or compact RN license.
Details
- ICU/CCU setting within a main hospital building, 16-bed unit
- Patient ratio is typically 2:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on census
- Unit is supported by a monitor tech (MT); a patient care tech may be staffed depending on census
- Specialized equipment includes Impella, GE monitors, temporary pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Arctic Sun, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Procedures performed on the unit include central line insertions and dialysis catheter insertions
- EMR system: Meditech
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Float rotation shared with core staff
Requirements
- Active KY or compact RN license required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) — all from AHA or ARC, must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required
- Strong critical thinking skills and self-motivation required
- US SSN and date of birth required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
- One professional reference required
- No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
Additional Information
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position
- Scrubs required in any color; denim, capris, and camouflage are not permitted
- The unit has a collaborative, team-oriented environment with a mix of experience levels across day and night shifts
- Scheduling flexibility is offered within the unit
- The Critical Care team has implemented the Daisy Award program and engages in community-oriented initiatives
