Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Medical ICU (MICU) day shift position in Tuscaloosa, AL, requiring at least 2 years of experience with 1 year of recent ICU specialty experience and an active AL or compact RN license.
Details
- 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) providing complex monitoring and treatment of adult patients
- Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Holiday coverage required per facility policy
- Floating to other units and hospital locations required
- EMR: Meditech (experience not required)
Requirements
- Active AL state or compact RN license required — no pending or temporary licenses accepted
- No hits (past or current) on nursing license allowed
- Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, with at least 1 year of recent experience in ICU
- Associate degree in nursing (ADN) or higher required
- Active license must be submitted for consideration
- Current driver's license required for consideration
- Two professional references from within the last year required for consideration

- All ICU RNs are required to complete both an online pre-test and an on-site assessment
- Virtual orientation is provided and includes competency-based modules — no HealthStream modules required prior to start
