Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a GI Lab position requiring at least 1 year of GI nursing experience and weekly on-call coverage.
Details
- Work in a GI Lab unit with 11 pre/post bays and 3 procedure rooms
- Unit exclusively services GI patients
- Adult-geriatric patient population
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- On-call required once per week from 3:30 PM to 7:00 AM
- 3 weekend on-call shifts per contract, Friday 3:30 PM to Monday 7:00 AM
- Involves procedures such as colonoscopy, EGD, EUS, ERCP, and esophageal varices banding
- Uses equipment including balloon dilators, electrosurgical units, ERBE, forceps, polyp snares, and lithotripters
- Responsibilities include circulating, specimen handling/labeling, IV starts, airway management, and conscious/MAC sedation recovery
- Both inpatient and outpatient endoscopy center settings
Requirements
- Active MO or compact RN license required, in hand prior to start date
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of GI Lab nursing experience required
- Previous travel experience required
- EPIC charting experience preferred
- Teaching hospital experience preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Skilled in interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Provation system preferred
- Two professional references required for consideration
- Copy of driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide pre- and post-procedure care for GI patients including sedation recovery and airway management
- Grey scrub color required
- RTO limited to 2 requests per contract, must be submitted with candidate profile
- Previous employees must be separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
- Local candidates accepted at a lower rate
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rate
- Orientation includes up to 4 hours of non-billable training modules completed through MyPath
