Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring a minimum of 3 years of endoscopy experience, recent pediatric experience, and active Cerner proficiency.
Details
- Position is based in a short-term acute care hospital with 153 staffed beds
- Unit handles high volumes of both pediatric (0 months–18 years) and adult patients
- Procedures include Upper & Lower GI, Bronchoscopy, EBUS, and Pain Management
- Pediatric cases are scheduled Monday through Thursday; Tuesdays are typically lighter days
- RNs provide 1:1 patient care in pre/post and intraprocedural settings
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
- On-call required: one weeknight shift (Mon–Thu, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM) per week, plus one full weekend (Friday 5:00 PM – Monday 5:30 AM) every 6 weeks
- Floating within scope required, including to PACU as needed, as well as to affiliate hospitals nearby
- No weekend requirement for regular scheduled shifts
- Charting is performed in Cerner; Provation experience is preferred
- Block scheduling is open for discussion
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license in hand at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum 3 years of endoscopy (GI/Endo) experience required
- Recent pediatric endoscopy experience within the last 2 years required
- Bronchoscopy experience within the last 2 years required
- Cerner EMR experience within the last 2 years required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program required

- Scrubs are provided by the facility

- Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved
- Former permanent or PRN employees of IU Health must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
