Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ER experience and a block schedule commitment.
Details
- Work setting is a 379-bed short-term acute care hospital with a Level II Trauma Center designation
- Emergency Department unit with a 1:3 patient ratio
- Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Block scheduling is required
- 6 weekend shifts per 6-week block required
- No on-call requirements
- No floating between units within the department; however, travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state
- EMR: Epic (required)
Requirements
- Active TX or Compact RN license required
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of emergency department RN experience required (hard stop)
- Epic EMR experience required
- At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of total employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Valid government-issued photo ID (driver's license) required
Additional Information
- Licensed nursing personnel (RN) are required to wear solid navy blue scrubs; print tops are not acceptable

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
- Refusal to float between facilities within the state may result in assignment termination
- RTO is expected to be minimal; any time-off requests must be disclosed at the time of submission, as post-offer requests may be denied
