Description
American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with 2 years of experience for a day shift position at a short-term acute care hospital, with the ability to float between two campuses.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting in a Respiratory/Neuro Diagnostics unit
- Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
- Every other weekend required
- Charting via Epic
- Floating between both campuses (sister facilities) may be required based on booking
- No on-call required
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required
- Community hospital experience required
- Active state or compact RT license required (pending license not accepted); license required if applicable
- Required certifications: BLS, CRT
- Preferred certifications: ACLS, CPFT, NRP, PALS, RPFT, RRT
- Must pass an Advanced EKG exam as part of compliance
- SSN and DOB required for consideration
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the main campus to be eligible
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrub color: solid black or black and white
- RTO is limited to a maximum of 4 days per contract, with approval of only 1 holiday
- RTO requests are subject to manager's discretion
- Previous travelers must have been away for at least 1 year before returning to this facility as a traveler
- Day shift travelers may only extend once before needing to wait 6 months to be eligible to return
- Pre-start orientation modules are required and must be completed before the assignment begins
- Teaching hospital and charge experience are preferred
- Preferred work setting experience includes: Adult Critical Care, LTAC, NICU, Pediatric Critical Care, Pulmonary Function Test Lab, and Pulmonary Rehab
- Key clinical skills include ventilator management (BiPAP, CPAP, IMV/SIMV), airway management, ABG drawing and interpretation, bronchoscopy, tracheostomy care, and chest physiotherapy
