American Traveler is seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist for a night shift hospital position requiring 2 years of experience and LA state licensure.

• Night shift, 4x12 hour schedule (6:30 PM - 6:30 AM) on a 36/48 rotating schedule
• Required to float to all areas
• Weekend work required every other weekend
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• No on-call requirement
• Epic charting system required

• Minimum 2 years of respiratory therapy experience required (higher experience preferred)
• Current certifications required: BLS, CRT or RRT, NRP
• LA state license required if applicable
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in ventilator management including BiPAP, CPAP, high frequency jet ventilator, and oscillator
• Experience with airway management, suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• Experience caring for patients with ARDS, ECMO, COVID, cystic fibrosis, and pneumonia
• Neonatal/pediatric equipment experience preferred, including bubble CPAP and high frequency jet ventilation
• Proficient in arterial blood gas draws and interpretation
• At least two recent supervisor references required, dated within 12 months
• Valid driver's license copy required for consideration

• Provide respiratory care across adult critical care, emergency department, and NICU settings
• Perform medication delivery via aerosol, MDI, and nebulizer systems
• Assist with intubation, extubation, and high-risk deliveries
• Participate in patient transport, including inter-departmental and ambulance transport
• Work as part of a collaborative respiratory and critical care team
• First-time travelers considered as long as minimum experience requirements are met
• Local candidates within 75 miles accepted at local rate
• Previous LCMC Health permanent employees must have separated from the health system for at least one year to be eligible
