American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position in Massachusetts with evening shifts and advanced certification requirements.
Responsibilities
- Work in the PACU unit in a hospital setting
- Assignment is 13 weeks in duration
- 12-hour evening shifts with weekends and holidays required
- Call requirement includes one 24-hour weekend shift per month and three night calls per month (11 PM to 7 AM), with a 30-minute response time
- Care for post-anesthesia patients, including those on drips and ventilators
- Testing on ECG/telemetry and medications is required during onboarding, with one attempt allowed
- Responsible for post-anesthesia patient monitoring and care
- Collaborate closely with physicians, pharmacists, and anesthesia teams
- Candidates should be prepared for frequent on-call shifts as part of department coverage
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Holiday and weekend coverage is required as part of the regular schedule
- Return-to-work policy requires a 6 month separation for previous employees or travelers
- Biweekly orientation offered
- Active MA RN license required at time of consideration
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Minimum of 2 years recent PACU experience required
- Experience with patients on drips and ventilators required
- Must pass ECG/dysrhythmia and medication knowledge tests with a minimum score of 85% during onboarding
- Influenza vaccination required (medical exemptions accepted)
- COVID-19 vaccination and booster required (medical exemptions accepted)
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates will not be accepted
- Cannot have worked in any capacity for the specified health system within the previous 6 months
