American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with strong gynecological skills and active BLS and ACLS certifications for a 13-week contract assignment.
Responsibilities
- Position is in the Operating Room of an acute care hospital
- Covers 4 main OR suites, a Family Birth Center for C-sections, and an Endoscopy Room
- Typical surgical cases include gynecological, general, orthopedic joint replacement, orthopedic fracture and soft tissue repair, urological, ENT, and podiatry cases
- RN duties include both circulating and scrubbing on cases
- Uses Meditech ORM (version 5.66) for charting
- Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 0630 to 1500, 8-hour day shifts
- Call is required on weeknights (1500-0630), weekends (Friday 1500 to Monday 0630), and for holidays
- Call response time is 20 minutes
- May be required to float and assist in other departments if needed
- Blue scrubs are provided
- On-call duties are mandatory, including overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts
- A unit/department-specific orientation is provided to support onboarding
- Blue scrubs are provided for all shifts
- Travelers may participate in a Helping Hands capacity in other units as needed
- Candidates may not have been employed directly by any CommonSpirit facility, including CHI or Dignity, within the last year
- Holiday call coverage is required as part of the assignment
- Active RN license in any state or Compact (NLC); must be active at time of consideration, but Oregon license can be obtained with a 90-Day Emergency License if necessary
- Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required
- Strong gynecological operating room skills, especially in TLH procedures
- Ability to both scrub and circulate in the OR
- Two professional references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
- Copy of driver's license must be provided
