American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Outpatient Surgery/Same Day Surgery position, requiring at least 2 years of OR experience and a GA or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
- Outpatient surgery setting with cases ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics
- Provides care for a 6-bed unit with an average daily census of 20 and a 1:1 nurse-patient ratio
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM
- Required to work every other weekend
- On-call duties are required
- Floating to the main hospital may be necessary
- Uses Epic and Pyxis systems
- Specialized procedures include general, ENT, orthopedics, plastics, GYN, neuro, podiatry, and more
- Scrub uniforms are provided
- Duties include circulating for a wide variety of outpatient surgical procedures for both adult and pediatric patients
- Orientation modules are required and completed during onboarding
- Must be available to work holiday assignments per facility holiday policy, with limited RTO during major holidays
- Maximum of 7 days RTO allowed; no RTO during first week of assignment
- Full compliance is required before starting, with a potential 2-week orientation delay if not completed on time
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- Travel pairs are not permitted to work the same shift in the same unit
- No blocked scheduling is allowed
- Active GA or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
- Minimum of 2 years recent OR experience in outpatient or same day surgery
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to circulate procedures (scrubbing not required for circulating RNs)
- Must submit required compliance items and complete labs within 48 hours of contract signing
- First-time travelers will not be considered
- Must be away from all Piedmont facilities for at least 1 year if previously employed as perm or PRN
- Two supervisory references from managers or higher are strongly preferred
