Description
American Traveler is hiring a Radiologic Technologist for a General Radiology department, requiring ARRT Radiography certification and an Illinois IEMA Radiography License.

- Work in a General Radiology department performing diagnostic imaging procedures
- Day shift schedule of 3x12 hour shifts, 36 hours per week
- Uses PACS system for image data transfer and verification
- May be required to perform duties of other modalities per held licensure and cross-training compliance
Requirements
- Associate's Degree in a related field or Certificate in Radiologic Technology required
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- IEMA Radiography License required for Illinois
- ARRT Radiography (R) certification required
- License required if applicable
- Ability to perform multiple tasks while coordinating patient flow and technical procedures requiring independent judgment
Additional Information
- Perform radiographic procedures including acquiring and processing patient exams per department protocols
- Administer IV, oral, and rectal contrast as needed and respond to adverse or allergic reactions
- Perform venipuncture for IV contrast administration when necessary
- Screen patients for pregnancy possibility and perform pregnancy testing if applicable
- Review radiology orders for completeness, accuracy, and medical necessity
- Critique imaging quality standards including positioning, technical factors, and alignment
- Maintain imaging equipment, supply inventories, and workplace orderliness
- Report equipment malfunctions and safety events, including near misses, in a timely manner
- Assist in instruction of students and new staff as needed
- May perform duties of Rad Tech Lead or Imaging Coordinator in their absence
- Meet department productivity benchmarks and assist other areas during downtimes
- RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract
- Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates within this radius are not accepted
