Description
American Traveler is seeking a Radiation Therapist with a minimum of 1 year of experience and ARRT(T) certification for a 13-week day shift contract at a hospital-based Radiation Oncology department in Joplin, MO.
Details
- Hospital-based Radiation Oncology (Oncology Unit) department
- Approximately 25–35 patients treated daily
- Delivers prescribed radiation treatments including 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS, and SBRT modalities
- Performs CT simulations to support treatment planning
- Operates a single Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator
- Uses Mosaiq R&V system for record and verify
- Uses Epic for electronic medical records
- Day shift, Mon–Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (5x8 schedule)
- No float, call, or weekend requirements
- Rotating holiday coverage required
Requirements
- Active ARRT(T) — RT(T) or higher certification required
- Current BLS certification required
- License required if applicable
- Minimum 1 year of recent radiation therapy experience required
- Experience performing CT simulations required
- Proficiency with Elekta Versa HD linear accelerator required
- Experience with Mosaiq R&V system required
- Knowledge of 3D, IMRT, VMAT, SRS, and SBRT treatment delivery required
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills required
- A valid U.S. Social Security Number is required — Canadian SINs are not accepted
- No employment gaps of 90 days within the past 12 months
- ARRT(R) VI certification preferred

- Collaborates with the radiation oncology team to ensure accurate, safe, and compassionate patient care
- The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and Level 2 STEMI Center
- The facility holds a Leapfrog Group 'B' Hospital Safety Grade (Fall 2024) and a CMS 3-Star Rating
- Black scrubs required
- Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a reduced bill rate and are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this location; after 3 consecutive contracts, a minimum 1-year separation from the facility or transition to a facility outside the 50-mile radius is required
