Description
American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital setting, requiring at least 1 year of experience and Epic proficiency, with a Monday–Friday schedule and 1 weekend per month.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting with potential floating within the facility and to a nearby affiliated hospital as needed
- Patient population includes geriatric, neurological, and orthopedic cases
- Day shift schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM (5x8-hour shifts)
- One weekend shift required per month
- No on-call requirements
- Epic EMR required
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of physical therapy experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting
- Current BLS certification required
- Active state PT license required at time of consideration; GA or Compact license required if applicable
- Proficiency with Epic EMR required
- Experience with documentation tasks including assessments, evaluations, plan of care, short/long-term goals, reassessments, and discharge planning
- Strong time management skills required
- Charge experience preferred

- Responsibilities include patient evaluation, treatment planning, reassessments, and discharge planning across geriatric, neurological, and orthopedic populations
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates are accepted for this position
- All RTO must be finalized prior to consideration; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
- Maximum of 7 days of RTO per contract
- If 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work all applicable holidays — no holiday RTO will be considered
- If 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, travelers are expected to work 2 of them, with 1 holiday RTO request eligible for review
- Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- No alternate shift or schedule requests are permitted — the listed shift is firm
- Former direct employees or per diem staff must have been away from all affiliated facilities for a full year before being considered as a traveler
- All compliance and onboarding documents must be completed promptly following contract signing to avoid delays due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
