Description
American Traveler is hiring a Home Health Occupational Therapist with 2 years of OT experience for a 13-week contract in Fort Dodge, IA, serving patients across a 50-mile coverage area.
Details
- Home health setting covering a 50-mile radius around Fort Dodge, IA
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, 40 hours/week
- Average of 4–6 patient visits per day
- Patient population primarily consists of individuals requiring short-term therapy following hospitalization or a nursing home stay
- Team includes 1 PT, 1 OT, 1 PTA, and 1 COTA
- Weekly team meetings held virtually with monthly in-person meetings
- Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required
- Travelers are expected to drive approximately 200–250 miles per week within the coverage area
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of OT experience required
- Home health experience preferred but not required — facility is willing to train
- Active Iowa OT state license required (compact license accepted); license required if applicable
- Active BLS certification required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Must have a personal vehicle for patient visits (mileage reimbursed)
- Valid driver's license required for consideration
- One supervisory reference required for consideration
- Must not have been employed by the facility within the past 12 months
- Taxable address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Orientation begins on Mondays and includes a general organizational orientation, required online courses, 2 days of Epic training, and ride-along/shadow visits
- A therapy manager provides virtual support during the first couple of weeks, reviewing documentation and answering questions
- Travelers are typically fully productive by week 3
- Travelers are required to work 1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day
- Skills checklist completed within the past year is required for consideration
