American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU (STICU) position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and ACLS/BLS/NIHSS certifications, with night shift availability in an acute care hospital setting.

• 20-bed Surgical Intensive Care Unit (STICU) in an acute care hospital
• Typical patient ratio is 2:1, with 1:1 ratios common for higher-acuity patients
• Complex patient population includes neuro patients (herniation, external ventricular drains), ortho trauma requiring traction, post-op open-heart CABG patients, and open abdominal surgical cases
• Cardiovascular device management including intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella devices, and EKOS systems
• CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy) managed at bedside by RNs for a high volume of renal patients
• ECMO program planned to launch during the assignment period
• Medical ICU overflow patients are admitted to the unit when sister units are at capacity
• Night shifts, 12-hour shift length
• MEDITECH EMR used in this position
• 17-week contract

• Active GA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of ICU or STICU nursing experience required
• Experience in a Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center strongly preferred
• Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS (AHA), and NIHSS
• Experience with specialized cardiovascular devices (balloon pumps, Impella, EKOS) and CRRT preferred
• Driver's License required for consideration

• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Candidates who have been employed by this facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Any time-off or scheduling requests must be submitted and approved at the time of assignment confirmation
• 16-hour orientation included
