American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele Float Pool position at a Level 2 Trauma, academic teaching hospital in Rome, GA, requiring a minimum of 2 years of specialty experience and valid GA or compact RN license.
Details- Float Pool position covering all Med/Surg and Critical Care units, including ED boarders and potentially ICU or ER
- Level 2 Trauma designated academic teaching hospital with 361 licensed beds, a Chest Pain Center, and a Stroke Center
- Med/Surg patient populations include oncology, orthopedics, general surgery, trauma, pulmonology, vascular, and bariatric surgery patients
- Critical care step-down populations include neurology, cardiac, and observation unit patients with cardiac titratable drips and telemetry monitoring
- 12-hour night shifts, 7PM–7AM, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation every other weekend
- On-call may be requested when census is low, though this is rare
- Holiday coverage expected for 70% of assigned holidays
- EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
- Glucommander, cardiac monitors, Alaris pumps, BiPap, ventilators, specialty beds, Virtual RN, and Virtual Patient Observer systems are used across units
- Active GA RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and CPI (CPI may be provided by the facility if not already held)
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med/Surg Tele or a related specialty
- Most recent experience must be within the last year
- Skills required: basic arrhythmia interpretation, Foley catheter irrigation, PCA, epidural management, CPM, Buck's traction, and drain and chest tube management
- Knowledge of cardiac drips and experience with neuro, cardiac, pulmonary, ortho, trauma, and surgical patient populations
- 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN required for consideration
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Orientation consists of one week of facility-wide onboarding (Monday–Friday, 8AM–4:30PM) followed by 2–3 days of departmental orientation on the floor
- Support staff includes CNAs, nurse techs, respiratory therapists, phlebotomists, an educator, safety sitters, Virtual Patient Observers, and security
- Foley catheter placement requires 2 nurses per facility policy
- Scrub color: Navy

- Department culture emphasizes teamwork, proactive communication, timely response to call lights and telemetry, and mutual support across staff
- Local candidates are accepted; no radius rule applies — the same rate is offered to local travelers at this Georgia facility
- Must be separated from any AHSE facility for at least 1 year following a permanent position before being eligible
- First-time travelers will be considered, though experienced travelers are preferred
