Description
American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Technologist with 2 years of experience for a day shift contract at an acute care community hospital in Illinois.
Details
- Outpatient mammography unit within a 154-bed acute care community hospital
- Performs outpatient screening and diagnostic mammography exams, bone density (DEXA), stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsies, and magseed and wire localization placements including post clip procedures
- Caseload of 30–40 patients per day
- 5x8 day shifts, Monday–Friday with a variable start time: Mon & Fri 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, Tue–Thu 9:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Rotating Saturdays approximately every 6th weekend
- No on-call required
- Block scheduling (Mon–Fri) can be accommodated
- Charting in Meditech; experience is highly preferred, though orientation may include Meditech training
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of mammography technologist experience required
- ARRT (Mammography) certification required
- Current BLS required
- Illinois IEMA license required — license required if applicable
- Community hospital experience required
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Comfortable performing post clip exams
- Registered Breast Ultrasound (RBS) or Registered Breast Sonographer (RBS) certification preferred
- Experience with Hologic equipment preferred
- DEXA experience is a plus
- One supervisor reference required for consideration
- Pending licenses are not accepted; valid state license must be in hand at time of consideration
Additional Information
- Technologist will not be required to perform biopsies or localization exams
- Scrub color for imaging staff is black
- Parking is free in designated employee lots
- No RTO permitted during the first week of the assignment
- Maximum of 10 days of RTO per assignment; all RTO must be finalized prior to consideration
- Any license or background disclosures must be provided at time of consideration
