Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel LPN/LVN for a Med Surg/ED unit at a rural critical access hospital in North Dakota, requiring 2 years of experience and an active ND or compact license.
Details
- 25-bed critical access hospital in a rural location in North Dakota
- Med Surg/ED unit serving a primarily geriatric population, including general rehab and post-surgical patients
- Team-based nursing assignments with 2 RNs on at all times, plus Nurse Aides/CNAs on each shift
- Patient-managed CPAP only; telemonitor capacity available with no dedicated monitor techs
- EMR: Epic
- 12-hour night shifts, every other weekend
- Alternating holiday coverage required
- LPNs are assigned to the Med Surg floor; floating to other units is optional and based on experience
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Active ND state LPN license or compact (NLC) license required at time of consideration — pending licenses are not accepted (license required if applicable)
- Minimum 2 years of LPN experience
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required — pending certifications not accepted
- ER experience preferred
- Experience with dementia care, stroke, skin care, and geriatric patient populations
- Epic EMR experience
- Must not currently be employed full time, part time, or PRN at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity
- Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Charge nurse is present on every shift and carries a team assignment rather than individual patient load
- 3-shift unit-specific orientation provided
- Self-scheduling and block scheduling are both available options
- No call or standby requirements
- No specific scrub color required
- RTO requests must be submitted upfront and may not exceed 7 days for a 13-week contract; additional RTO will not be approved
- First-time travelers will be considered for this position
