Description
American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2-3 years of IR experience, including neuro-interventional experience, for a high-acuity vascular IR unit.
Details
- 2-lab interventional radiology unit averaging 12-15 cases per day
- Procedures include peripheral vascular examinations, biopsies, thrombectomies, embolizations, tunneled dialysis catheters, Mediports, lumbar drains, nephrostomy tube insertions, tunneled PICCs, gallbladder/biliary drains, vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty/sacroplasty, lumbar punctures, CAPD catheters, epidurals, and PEG tube insertions
- Neuro-interventional procedures include cerebral angiograms, thrombectomy, coiling, and carotid stenting
- Four 9-hour day shifts (Monday–Friday as assigned), totaling 36 hours/week; daily hours rotate between 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, 7:30 AM–5:00 PM, or 8:00 AM–5:30 PM
- Call required one day per week (5:30 PM–7:00 AM) and every 4th weekend (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), with additional on-call shifts available to support coverage
- Staff may be required to stay beyond their scheduled shift if more than one procedure room remains in operation at end of day
- Epic EHR and PACS experience preferred
- Local candidates are accepted
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience as an IR Technologist required
- Neuro-interventional experience required; run-off and angiogram experience highly preferred
- ARRT certification and registration required
- BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS (AHA) preferred
- ARRT CV or VI specialty certification preferred
- Associate's degree from an ARRT-accredited program preferred
- Must be able to remain within 30 minutes of the facility on on-call days
- Candidates must be located more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
- Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents include a driver's license, voter registration card, federal tax return, Military Form 2058, or W2 from the US government)
- 1 supervisory reference required for consideration
- Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information
- Assist the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic, specialized interventional, and neuro-interventional procedures using sterile technique
- Prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with applicable laws and facility policy
- Administer contrast via power injector as prescribed and assess patients for allergic reactions prior to administration
- Adhere to radiation safety standards to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
- Obtain and verify patient clinical history and lab work; verify informed consent and complete pre-, procedural, and post-procedure documentation
- Prior travel experience preferred; first-time travelers may be considered
- A pass/fail EKG test is administered on the first day with 2 attempts allowed; study guides will be provided
