American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a GI/Endoscopy position requiring at least 3 years of nursing experience, Epic proficiency, and an active IL RN license.
Details- Ambulatory surgery center (CASC) endoscopy setting
- Cares for outpatient GI patients undergoing colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures
- RN rotates through prep, intra-procedure, and Phase 1 and Phase 2 recovery
- Administers moderate sedation under physician direction and assists CRNAs during anesthesia cases
- Floating between two endoscopy/digestive health locations required
- 4 x 9-hour day shifts per week with rotating start times typically between 0630 and 0800
- No weekend or holiday shifts required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Active IL RN license in good standing required (temporary license accepted)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association required
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant nursing experience required
- ASN required; BSN preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Responsible for patient assessment, IV placement, patient education, procedure monitoring, sedation administration, and post-procedure recovery care
- Collaborates with unit staff and delegates to unlicensed personnel as appropriate
- Maintains accurate nursing documentation for integration by the broader care team
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Contingent workers may not remain on continuous assignment at this health system for more than 1 year; a 6-month break in service is required before returning to any facility within the system
