Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer / Echo Technologist for a 13-week travel contract in Temple, TX, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and Level I Trauma experience in non-invasive cardiology.
Details
- Non-invasive cardiology unit performing cardiac ultrasound services for adult patients
- Procedures include transthoracic, transesophageal (TEE), and stress echocardiography, as well as intraoperative echo support for complex procedures
- PM shift: 5x8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 3:00 PM–11:00 PM
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac sonography experience
- Level I Trauma experience required
- Must be self-sufficient and able to work independently
- Active BLS certification (AHA only) required
- RCS or RDCS certification required
- Active TX license required if applicable
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- Flu shot required; no exemptions accepted
Additional Information
- Performs basic to advanced cardiac ultrasound procedures, identifying and defining cardiac abnormalities and extending the scope of examination as clinically necessary
- May assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms with echocardiographic studies to support complex interventions
- Assists with TEE studies alongside cardiologist, including measurement calculations and probe sterilization
- Obtains and analyzes patient clinical history to adapt imaging techniques and ensure comprehensive, diagnostic echocardiograms
- Works with the cardiac sonographer quality coordinator to maintain quality processes and assist with IAC accreditation activities
- Implements protocols as new technology evolves and ensures echocardiography standards are maintained
- Solid-color scrubs required; no prints
- Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local travelers are not accepted
- Candidates who have previously worked as a permanent employee at this facility system may have additional eligibility requirements
