American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment at a Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center in Bangor, ME, requiring ARRT(R) certification and at least 1 year of CT experience.
Details- CT Scan department at a 411-bed Level II Trauma Center and Certified Stroke Center serving approximately two-thirds of Maine, with air transport capabilities
- Serves ED, outpatient, and inpatient care areas with a primarily adult and geriatric population, including some pediatric and neonatal patients
- Outpatient cases include oncology, general abdominal pain, post-surgical, and trauma; biopsies performed on-site (training provided)
- Average of 25–30 scans per day
- CT scanners include Siemens Edge (CT1), Siemens Force (CT2), and Siemens Definition (CT ED), all with Medrad injectors
- EMR: Cerner; PACS: Enterprise Imaging AGFA
- Variable 12-hour shifts including overnights and weekends, 36 hours per week
- Weekend rotation varies based on departmental need
- No on-call required
- Holidays covered on a rotating basis with other techs
- No floating required — fixed assignment to CT department
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience required
- ARRT(R) required; ARRT(CT) preferred
- Current BLS certification
- ME state license or compact license required (license required if applicable)
- Proficiency with CTA studies and general CT studies
- Experience with Siemens CT equipment preferred
- IV start skills preferred
- Biopsy experience preferred, though training is available
- Two professional references from within the past year required, with at least one from a supervisor, manager, director, or charge (peer references not accepted)
- Must provide copies of all certifications, full SSN, and a Driver's License for consideration
- Flu vaccination required for clearance to start (medical exemptions reviewed on a case-by-case basis)
- Candidates must have a permanent address 100 miles south/southwest of the facility
- Candidates must not have previously worked at any Northern Light Health Hospital in a permanent capacity
- Perform CTA and general CT studies across ED, inpatient, and outpatient settings
- Biopsies are performed on-site; training will be provided for those without prior biopsy experience
- Supported by a lead tech, department administration, multiple CT techs per shift, internal transport, and an on-site radiologist
- Orientation is 1–1.5 weeks, adjusted based on experience and comfort level
- Schedules are issued on a 4-week basis; all RTO requests require manager approval
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Scrubs may be any solid professional color; facility scrubs available if needed
