Description
American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac catheterization procedures including PCI, atherectomy, and device implants for a 12-week travel assignment.
Details
- Acute care hospital cardiac cath lab setting with 3 procedure rooms and 5 beds
- Adult to geriatric patient population
- Average daily census of 8–10 patients
- Procedures include diagnostic cath, PCI, orbital atherectomy, IABP, Impella, and device implants — no EP studies or ablations
- Equipment includes GE Discovery, IABP, and Impella (CSI)
- EMR: Epic (required); Merge (preferred); also uses Pyxis and SBAR
- 4x10-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- 10 call days per month required
- Floating within the department and facility; occasional float to a sister campus is possible
- 12-week contract
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- RCIS, RCES, or ARRT (CV) certification required
- Experience with EKG interpretation, obtaining vitals, and rhythm interpretation including sinus node rhythms required
- Pacemaker experience preferred
- Hands-on experience with GE Discovery, IABP, and Impella (CSI) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- License required if applicable
- Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
Additional Information
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week
- If one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO
- If three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two; one holiday RTO request may be submitted for review
- Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
- Travelers must be away from all facilities within this health system for a minimum of one full year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates are accepted
- No scheduling requests or alternate shifts will be considered; the posted shift is firm
- Full compliance with onboarding requirements must be completed on time to avoid a two-week pushback due to the bi-weekly orientation schedule
