American Training, Inc is seeking a full-time Billing Specialist in our Andover location. In this role, you will be responsible for billing and applying contract payments, researching short payments and denials. SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Billing for the following State and Federal contracts:
- MART Transportation Billing
- Department of Developmental Services Billing
- Department of Transitional Assistance (DTA) Billing
- Department of Children and Family Services (DCF) Billing
- ABI Contracts Billing
- Day Hab (Mass Health and 3rd party insurance) Billing
- Private Billing
- Reconcile revenue on the general ledger
- Applying contract payments
- Research discrepancies with denials and payments
- Hold in privacy, except to appropriate personnel, all information gathered during the course of carrying out job responsibilities.
- Maintain proper care of material and equipment assigned to Finance Branch

- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Contracts & Billing Manager and Chief Financial Officer
SKILLS NEEDED/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and fiscal policies, particularly those appropriate to non- profit agencies.
- Knowledge of accounting software and automated spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting.
- Ability to relate well to others both on an individual basis and in a group.
- Ability to teach and consult with program Colleagues and administration on matters of finance, accounting, and related topics effectively.
- Must be well organized and process good time- management skills.
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to prioritize assignments at work under stress.
- Must be able to solve problems and strong analytic skills
PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- Sedentary intervals of typing on computer. Some walking or standing. Must be able to maintain a fast-paced environment with a high energy level. Must be able to lift and/or carry 10 lb. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as ledger and files.
EMOTIONAL EFFORT:
- Moderate, occasional short deadlines requiring some overtime. Work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional periods of high stress.

Qualifications:American Training is looking for people with the following experience and skills:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or educational experience indicates competency.
- 3 - 5 years in accounting.
- Knowledge of accounting procedures and fiscal policies, particularly those appropriate to non- profit agencies.
- Knowledge of accounting software and automated spreadsheet applications.
- Knowledge of non- profit accounting.
- Ability to relate well to others both on an individual basis and in a group.
- Ability to teach and consult with program Colleagues and administration on matters of finance, accounting, and related topics effectively.
