Inventory Specialist

As an Inventory Specialist at American Threads, you play a key role in shaping an inspiring, on-brand, and elevated shopping experience. You will manage inventory flow, oversee shipment processing, and ensure that product presentation meets American Threads’ brand standards. This role partners closely with the Store Manager to maintain operational excellence, optimize merchandise placement, and support the store team in delivering an exceptional customer experience.


Inventory Management

  • Oversee shipment processing and replenishment to ensure merchandise is floor-ready and adheres to American Threads guidelines and standards.
  • Manage inbound and outbound shipments, reconcile invoices, and address discrepancies with the Buying Team.
  • Conduct bi-monthly cycle counts and resolve discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Maintain back-of-house organization, cleanliness, and safety standards.
  • Coach team members on American Threads standards for stockroom organization, floor presentation, and product care.
  • Reinforce operational procedures, loss prevention, and compliance standards across inventory and merchandising processes.


Visual Merchandising

  • Partner with the Store Manager to analyze inventory reports and optimize product placement to exceed revenue goals.
  • Execute visual merchandising strategies, ensuring displays are polished, on-brand, and visually compelling.
  • Support daily sell down and replenishment of merchandise.
  • Maintain a consistent brand aesthetic across all fixtures, racks, tables, and displays throughout the store.
  • Refresh and rotate merchandise regularly to highlight new arrivals, seasonal trends, and top-selling products.
  • Audit floor and stockroom presentation daily to ensure adherence to brand standards and operational excellence.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Strong communication and time management skills.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in visual merchandising, retail, or fashion-focused sales.
  • Proven ability to execute visually compelling displays that drive sales and enhance the customer experience.
  • Strong understanding of styling, color theory, product placement, and trend-driven merchandising.
  • Flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and pre-opening shifts.
  • Passion for fashion, styling, and delivering an elevated, on-brand customer experience.


Physical Requirements:

  • Able to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting
  • Comfortable climbing a ladder when needed
