What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bench Tech / Metals position at American Technical Services, Inc.?
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Machine tools, parts, castings repair work. machining
and puddling. Metal fabrication and machine shop. 1st shift for anyone
with 1-2 years shop experience and willingness to learn Experience with
melting, mechanical assembly, sandblasting and brazing/soldering or
puddling knowledge. A key part of this company is to refurbish and
rebuild industrial and commercial metal and alloy bearings, races,
housings, shafts and similar. Would melt out parts and materials, spray
and puddle the materials onto shafts , housing etc- processes, operate
grinders and cleaning equipment. 1st shift \$21-\$25/hour. Would want
someone to learn and grow as a refurbishing tech and possibly become the
lead person in the department. Physical and some hotter temperatures of
parts and materials. (not foundry) Position and secure workpieces on
machines, and start feeding mechanisms. Set up, operate, or tend metal
or plastic molding, casting, or coremaking machines to mold or cast
metal or thermoplastic parts or products. Measure and visually inspect
products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to
specifications, using precision measuring instruments. Remove finished
or cured products from dies or molds, using hand tools, air hoses, and
other equipment, stamping identifying information on products when
necessary. \*\*\*\*\* OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Min 1-2 years
shop experience. Melting, die cast, spin casting and/or repair welding
using MIG/TIG. Experience with manual machinery. Set up experience
preferred. Experience in die cast or foundry is close. Some heavy
