American Surgery Center is a multi-specialty surgery center focused on providing quality outpatient and same-day surgery for a variety of specialties. Experienced OR, Pre-Op, and PACU nurses are needed to grow our facility!
The OR Nurse is accountable for patients during their perioperative experience. Surgical specialties currently include general surgery, ophthalmology, endoscopies, and bariatric, and we are looking to add more specialties in the future. The right candidate will demonstrate technical and operational knowledge and is able to apply these skills in the clinical setting. The ability to collaborate with physicians and ancillary services as well as work in a team environment is a must.

Essential Functions:

- Maintains highest standard of sterile technique, when applicable
- Performs surgical counts with circulator, when applicable
- Keeps proficient and knowledgeable of surgeon’s needs, techniques and requirements, as well as always anticipating the surgeon’s needs in either the scrub or circulating role
- Assists in maintaining a safe and aseptic environment for patient and staff
- Uses proper technique for specimens and cultures, as directed by the policies and procedures
- Administers drugs and manages drug-related problems that may occur
- Contains knowledge of anesthetic agents, techniques, actions and interactions
- Demonstrates arrhythmia recognition and treatment
- Collaborate with staff and health care professionals to ensure customer satisfaction and shared goals are achieved.
- Support all UM and UMACO initiatives
- Use, protect, and disclose patient’s protected health information (PHI) in accordance with Health Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
- Follow all United Medical policies, uphold professional standards, and perform work responsibilities in a manner that is respectful to others
- Maintain consistent, reliable in-office attendance to foster a productive and collaborative work environment, enhance teamwork, ensure operational efficiency, and support client interactions
- Perform other duties or projects as needed
Education and Experience
- Licensure as an RN in the State of Delaware
- BLS Certification
- Direct experience in ambulatory surgery
- ACLS – possess / obtain within 3 months of hire
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full Time, Monday through Friday
- No Weekends / No Holidays
- Typical OR shift will be 7:00am-3:30pm
- Occasional need for 8:30am-5:00pm
