We have 7 locations to serve the North Carolina marketplace, as well as convenient, fast online ordering.
Overview
We are seeking a motivated and customer-oriented associate to join our team part-time at American MH Supply in Laurens, SC. As a lumber yard and mobile home parts store, the ideal candidate would have some experience or knowledge in construction, general repair, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, retail sales, and/or customer service. The ideal candidate will also bring with them a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the motivation to achieve daily tasks and objectives. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service and support in a fast-paced retail environment. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers with their purchases, managing transactions, and ensuring the sales area is well-stocked and organized. Lumber yard experience is preferred. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus!!
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and help them in finding and selecting the products they need.
- Operate cash registers and POS systems accurately to process transactions.
- Maintain knowledge of store products to effectively upsell and promote items.
- Manage stock levels by restocking shelves and organizing inventory.
- Handle customer inquiries over the phone with professionalism and courtesy.
- Ensure the sales area and lumber yard are clean, organized, and visually appealing.
- Utilize retail math skills to assist with pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs., and be able to stand up for long periods of time.
- Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred.
- Familiarity with computers and POS systems is advantageous.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to upsell products.
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills.
- Basic understanding of retail math for accurate transaction processing.
- be able to operate a forklift/pallet jack.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour
