The Specialty Weigher performs all duties associated with the production of specialty sugars to include blending, coding, packaging, sampling, stacking, and transporting specialty products.
Detailed Roles & Responsibilities
- Operates packaging equipment within the Specialty Production Center
- Responsible for basic maintenance of equipment including, but not limited to, standard levels of sanitation
- Takes samples of product and records sampling data
- Coordinates activities with co-workers to meet expectations for safety, quality, production, and energy consumption
- Assists Specialty Operators as needed
- Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing facility or other related environment is needed
- Prior experience operating packaging equipment is preferred
- High school diploma or GED is required
The ideal candidate will have the ability to:
- Read and adjust scales on various types of packaging equipment and related equipment
- Perform industrial labor tasks such as lifting (up to 50lbs.) and handling drums (up to 55lbs.) and other bulk units.
- Follow written and verbal instructions, maintain written records, troubleshoot equipment problems, and perform mathematical calculations
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays as required.
