The University Of Chicago’s Department Of Radiology Invites Applications For a Section Chief Of Musculoskeletal Imaging At The Rank Of Associate Professor Or Professor On The School Of Medicine Track.   • Build and lead a high-performing clinical team within a supportive and collegial department.
  • Shape the strategic direction of MSK imaging across UChicago Medicine’s expanding clinical enterprise, including regional sites and community partnerships.
  • Drive clinical innovation, including advanced MSK imaging and image-guided interventions, supported by state-of-the-art technology and strong institutional investment.
  • Collaborate with internationally recognized basic, clinical, and translational researchers to launch and grow academic initiatives.
  • Enhance education and mentorship in one of the nation’s premier radiology training programs, with opportunities to shape curricula and foster trainee development.

The Section Chief will participate in strategic planning, budgeting, faculty recruitment, and operational oversight for the Section; nurture relationships with referring providers; and contribute to institutional outreach. Clinical responsibilities include the full spectrum of MSK imaging and procedures. Protected administrative time is provided to support leadership activities. Weekly remote reading days are available, and the position includes teaching, supervision of trainees, and scholarly activity.

Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. Opportunities to earn additional income through a productivity-based incentive model are readily available. Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and the State of Indiana, 3) be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, and 4) have completed fellowship training in Musculoskeletal Radiology or equivalent.
