Missouri Baptist Medical Center is hiring a Full-Time Laboratory Associates Coordinator!

Experience Level

  • 2-5 years in an outreach setting
  • Previous lead/leader experience

Role Requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership experience or strong leadership potential is required.
  • Must be dependable, professional, and able to represent Outreach Phlebotomy positively at all times.

Operational Hours

  • Operational hours: Monday-Friday No weekends or holidays are required for this role.
  • Time range: 0530-1730 Shifts will vary
  • Coordinator coverage begins at 0530 to take call responsibilities and assist with daily scheduling needs.
  • Ability to float to various locations

Overview

Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children?s Hospital.

The Clinical Laboratory at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is committed to improving the health and wellness of patients through our expertise in laboratory medicine and strong customer service. The laboratory performs over 1 million tests annually with a focus on providing accurate and timely results and services to patients and the community we serve. The laboratory is fully accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the American Association of Blood Banks (AABB).

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Responsible for the oversite of all technical functions for Specimen Collection and Processing.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises laboratory activities to ensure that procedures are performed promptly, accurately, and precisely according to department and hospital policies and procedures.
  • May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Ensures Compliance with the Regulatory Guidelines.
  • BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position. The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is an essential function of this job.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED

Experience

  • 2-5 years

Supervisor Experience

Preferred Requirements

Education

  • Associate's Degree

Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Phlebotomy
