Job Summary:
American Sleep Dentistry is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Provider Credentialing Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for managing the credentialing and re-credentialing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
Responsibilities:
- Process initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications for providers.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date credentialing records in the system.
- Collect, verify, and track primary source documentation for provider credentials.
- Prepare and submit applications for review by credentialing committees.
- Monitor compliance with credentialing requirements and ensure timely renewals.
- Stay updated on changes in credentialing guidelines, state, and federal regulations.
- Communicate effectively with providers, administrators, and medical staff to facilitate the credentialing process.
- Assist with audits and reporting related to credentialing activities.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive provider information.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in healthcare administration or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of experience in a healthcare-related administrative role.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and credentialing processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Adobe, OneNote).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and maintain high attention to detail.
- Knowledge of NCQA standards, as well as state and federal credentialing guidelines.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field.
- Certification in credentialing (e.g., Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Management (CPMSM) by NAMSS).
- Experience with CAQH and credentialing databases.
- Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly wage range: $23.00 - $30.00, dependent upon experience.
