What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lighting & Sign Route Inspector position at American Sign and Lighting?

American Sign & Lighting is hiring a reliable Night Field Inspector to travel assigned routes throughout Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore and inspect exterior lighting and signage.
This is a part-time, field-based position for someone who enjoys being on the road, can work independently with minimal supervision, and is comfortable using mobile technology to document their work.
What You'll Be Doing
- Travel assigned routes during evening and nighttime hours.
- Visually inspect exterior lighting and signage for outages, damage, or other issues.
- Take clear, high-quality photos of issues identified in the field.
- Document inspection results using a tablet or mobile application.
- Submit complete and accurate findings to our Operations team.
- Manage assigned field responsibilities independently and reliably.

What We're Looking For
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Professional driving or route-based experience.
- Comfortable driving and working independently at night.
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Excel.
- Comfortable using GPS, smartphones, tablets, and mobile apps.
- Smartphone capable of taking clear, high-quality photos.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.

Schedule & Compensation

- $16.00/hour during the first 90 days
- Up to $20.00/hour based on performance
Work Location: On the road throughout Delaware and Maryland's Eastern Shore.
