TITLE: Director of IT

EXEMPTION STATUS: Full-Time, Salary-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY: This is a strategic and hands-on position for the Director of Information Technology, responsible for leading all aspects of IT within the organization. As a senior member of the leadership team, this individual will shape and execute a technology vision that fosters growth, enhances operational efficiency, and drives digital transformation. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise combined with business acumen, functioning as both a strategist and implementer. This role is crucial in positioning IT as a value-driven partner that facilitates innovation, ensures security, and boosts productivity across the enterprise.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute the organization’s IT vision, mission, and long-term strategy aligned with corporate objectives.
  • Lead digital transformation initiatives, including evaluating, implementing, and supporting a modern ERP solution, and leveraging automation and analytics to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Develop and maintain a multi-year technology roadmap to support scalability and modernization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, and others, to identify and implement impactful technology solutions.
  • Champion change management efforts to ensure successful technology adoption and business readiness.

Technology & Infrastructure Oversight

  • Oversee all IT infrastructure, including data centers, networking, telephony, cloud environments, and end-user systems.
  • Manage ERP, MES, and other enterprise applications to ensure seamless integration and optimal business performance.
  • Lead cloud migration strategies and establish hybrid environments that enhance flexibility, performance, and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Establish and enforce technology standards, processes, and governance frameworks across the organization.

Cybersecurity, Risk & Compliance

  • Own the company’s cybersecurity strategy; implement applicable frameworks and ensure proactive risk management.
  • Develop and maintain robust disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure IT operations comply with applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Promote cyber awareness and training programs across all employee levels.

Data, Analytics & Process Improvement

  • Build and oversee a data governance program that ensures data quality, availability, and security.
  • Drive business intelligence and analytics initiatives to enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Support process optimization and automation to streamline workflows and reduce operational costs.

People & Vendor Leadership

  • Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performance IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and performance to ensure cost-effectiveness and service excellence.
  • Enhance user experience by delivering responsive, customer-centric IT services.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Define and track IT performance metrics (KPIs), including uptime, delivery timelines, and project ROI.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for sustainability, including green IT and energy-efficient technologies.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their potential value to the business.

Required

SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 6 years of progressive IT experience, with at least 4 years in IT leadership roles overseeing strategy, budgeting, and staff management.
  • Strong technical foundation in infrastructure, networking, cybersecurity, and enterprise systems.
  • Proven success leading ERP or MES implementations and managing hybrid cloud environments.
  • Experience in manufacturing or process industries is desired.
  • Expertise in vendor management, process improvement, and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills; able to translate complex technical concepts into business language.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, manage change, and align IT strategy with organizational goals.

Working Conditions

  • Office and manufacturing environment. May be some mild discomfort due to heat, dust, noise, and the like.
  • Frequent keyboarding is required.
  • Work frequently requires attention to details. Frequent pressures related to meeting deadlines, scheduling requirements and simultaneous projects is required. Work is frequently affected by distracting influences such as people, telephone calls, etc.
