Role Description This is a full-time Outside Sales Equipment Rental role based out of the El Cajon location.
An Outside Sales Representative will proactively develop and manage a territory of construction, industrial, and commercial customers, focusing on rental opportunities for aerial work platforms and related equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include prospecting new accounts, conducting on-site customer visits, presenting equipment rental options, preparing quotes, and following up to close business. The role also involves maintaining strong relationships with existing customers, coordinating with operations and dispatch teams to ensure timely deliveries and pickups, and resolving issues quickly and professionally. The individual will track activity and opportunities in CRM tools, stay informed about product capabilities and safety requirements, and represent American Scissor Lift at industry events or customer meetings as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven ability in Sales and Account Management, including territory development, pipeline management, and closing new and repeat business.
- Strong Customer Service with a focus on being proactive with on-site visits, potential customer needs, and honest relationship building.
- Experience providing Training or product demonstrations to customers on equipment use, features, and basic safety considerations.
- Familiarity with equipment rental, construction, or industrial markets is highly preferred.
- Effective communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport at all organizational levels.
- Self-motivated, organized, and comfortable working independently in the field and in a hybrid environment.
- Preferred: Outside Sales experience in equipment rental or construction related supplier industries.
