Mgr, International Services

Primary Purpose of Job

Plans and directs activities of the International Services team engaged in performing international wire, foreign currency and trade finance functions.   Markets and sells all trade finance and foreign currency services to all commercial customers by working with Commercial, Corporate Banking Officers, Commercial Real Estate and Business Relationship Managers.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Manages the International Services department:
  • Trains, supports, coaches and supervises team.
  • Guides and directs teammates to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations.
  • Reviews and approves outgoing international wire transfers and letter of credit transactions.
  • Reports suspicious activities to BSA Compliance daily.
  • Manages the servicing and pricing relationship with vendors providing international services to the Bank.
  • Provides technical support/training to branches and customers on foreign transactions.
  • Makes recommendations to management regarding product structure and pricing of international products based on industry trends and competitive environment and budgeting.

• Reviews and monitors foreign checks and banknotes transactions including but not limited to, reporting, balancing, and monitoring transactions daily.
• Provides assistance to internal/external customers and vendors on international services transactions; handles transactions which require advanced servicing and a high degree of technical skill in product specialty.
• Supports Commercial/Corporate/Commercial Real Estate Banking Officers and Business Relationship Managers to promote business development in the trade finance and foreign currency areas.

Experience Required

• Minimum five (5) years of Banking experience with 2 years in International services—Wire Transfer, Foreign Currency and Trade Finance.
• Minimum one (1) year of Supervisory experience, preferred.

Required Skills or Training

• Proficient knowledge of bank operations, policies, procedures and services.
• Proficient knowledge of International Services including Trade Finance, Wire Transfer and Foreign Currency.
• Advanced sales knowledge and ability to cross-sell all of the Bank's international services to commercial customers.
• Able to apply banking regulations, policies and procedures.
• Able to analyze, solve problems, and make sound decisions which require interactions and the development of relationships with internal departments and external customers.
• Proficient is using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.   

Professional Certifications, Licenses, And/or Registration Requirements

CDCS (Certified Documentary Credit Specialists) is preferred.
