What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Banking Specialist position at American Savings Bank?
Primary Purpose of Job
Responsible for providing professional customer service support and expansion of existing and new business relationships through consumer and business banking deposit and loan support. Assists new and prospect customers with inquiries, research and resolves problems and provides support to the Business Banking Department and its manager and relationship managers in performing other duties and functions.
Major Job Accountabilities
- Assists Business Banking Manager (BBM) and Business Relationship Managers (BRMs) with streamlining loan processing to the business credit management processing platform.
- Handles uploading of financial statements and other loan documents into the database and manages ticklers.
- Supports BBM and BRMs with pre-closing loan functions including: ordering appraisals, environmental screens, title reports, setting up escrow, obtaining Certificates of Insurance, and other activities related to loan processing.
- Coordinates loan document orders.
- Assists BBM with preparing various reports, setting up regular meetings and special events, and other activities to free up the BBM to focus on sales production and management.
- Handles deposit generation requirements, research, and servicing issues for Business Banking accounts.
- May be called upon for special projects and responsibilities as needed.
Experience Required
- One (1) to two (2) years of general banking experience.
- Previous experience with Branch, Small Business/Commercial Banking preferred.
Required Skills or Training
- Ability to manage and work independently.
- Able to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Able to work effectively under pressure to meet critical deadlines and customer demands.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of small business products.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills to interact and communicate effectively with business customers and internal partners.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
