Bank Regulatory Compliance Associate

Primary Purpose Of Job

Provides advice, guidance and training to the lines of businesses on the compliance requirements of banking laws, regulations, regulatory policies, and procedures. Gathers and reviews data for analysis, reporting, and assignment of bank regulatory compliance risk. Serves as a resource throughout the Bank regarding all bank regulatory compliance issues. Maintains the compliance risk assessment and monitors compliance risks.

Major Job Accountabilities

• Provides independent advice and guidance to the lines of businesses on the compliance requirements of banking laws, regulations, and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Serves as a resource for all Bank employees regarding bank regulatory compliance issues.
• Leads assigned compliance activities, projects and initiatives, including risk assessments, monitoring, testing, and implementation of regulatory requirements.
• Maintains the compliance risk assessment and independently evaluates compliance risks, control effectiveness, and mitigating factors, recommending enhancements where appropriate.
• Advises on the design and implementation of appropriate policies, procedures, and controls. Develops and supports processes to monitor and test enterprise-wide bank regulatory compliance.
• Gathers, analyzes and evaluates data for compliance risk assessments, reporting, monitoring, and testing. Identifies trends, potential compliance concerns, and areas requiring management attention.
• Interacts with other risk management personnel to identify, evaluates, and mitigate compliance risks and leads resolution of more complex compliance matters.
• Ensures applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures are effectively communicated to business units. Develops and/or leads training on bank regulations and compliance requirements across the enterprise.
• Stays current and knowledgeable about emerging issues and trends in compliance and compliance management, new and proposed banking laws, and regulations and assesses their potential impact to the Bank and applicable business unites.
  
  

Experience Required

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Bank regulatory compliance function or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  
  

Required Skills Or Training

• Legal or auditing background is a plus.
• Technical knowledge of the banking industry, as well as federal statutory and regulatory frameworks.
• Working knowledge of bank technology and operating systems.
• Excellent written, verbal, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Able to apply independent judgment to keep projects on schedule while remaining flexible in a demanding work environment.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to conceptualize new ideas and complex technical matters.
• Works thoroughly and accurately to meet schedules and deadlines.
