Job description:
MUST HAVE OWN TOOLS - We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic for our Odessa, TX yard. This will be a 50 / 50 yard and field position with responsibilities for all company equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform quality service and repair work on terminal and road tractor/ trailers, pick-ups as well as other equipment.
- Performs service work as required to support the operation.
- Coordinates services to ensure repairs are conducted in accordance to company schedules and approved standards.
- Implements processes to eliminate operational downtime and increase cost effectiveness.
- Verifies repair work is completed in accordance with company quality standards.
- Diagnoses and performs accurately all phases of fleet repairs including Tractors, Trailers, mid-sized pick-ups and small trailers.
Qualifications:
- At least one (1) year of diesel mechanic experience
- Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and management.
- Deadline and detail-oriented
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and organizational skills
- Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude
- Ability to work successfully both individually and within team environments
- Works well in a constantly changing environment
- Clean driving record
