Job Summary
American Rockwool is hiring a Maintenance Technician in Belton, TX to repair, maintain, and improve production equipment and plant systems. This is a hands-on role for a dependable, safety-minded mechanic who can troubleshoot equipment, perform preventive maintenance, and use shop tools, welding, and basic fabrication skills to keep production running.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production machinery, mechanical equipment, conveyors, motors, pneumatic tools, forklifts, loaders, and related plant equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, adjustments, and equipment checks.
- Dismantle equipment, identify defective parts, install replacement parts, and return equipment to service safely.
- Use hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, precision measuring tools, and shop equipment.
- Perform welding, cutting, and light fabrication to repair or build components as needed.
- Assist with facility repairs, plumbing, conduit, structural repairs, painting, concrete patching, and other plant maintenance tasks.
- Support equipment installation, production needs, and maintenance projects.
- Follow all company safety policies, plant rules, PPE requirements, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined-space requirements when applicable.
- Respond to downtime calls and communicate equipment concerns clearly to supervisors and production teams.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance, mechanic, welding, fabrication, or industrial repair experience.
- At least 1 year of welding experience preferred.
- Must have own tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic tools, and shop equipment safely.
- Dependable attendance and willingness to work overtime and respond to call-ins.
- Safety-minded and able to work in a manufacturing environment using required PPE.
Preferred Experience
- Industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, production, or a related environment.
- Basic electrical troubleshooting, conduit, fixtures, or safe meter use.
- Experience with motors, conveyors, bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, pumps, valves, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
- Forklift, front-end loader, rigging, or material handling equipment repair experience.
- Preventive maintenance and work order documentation experience.
