About the Role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing precise, competitive, and timely cost estimates for roadway construction projects. You’ll work closely with project managers, operations staff, suppliers, and general contractors to ensure accuracy and efficiency from bid to build.
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare detailed cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid and other tools
· Analyze blueprints, specifications, and bid documentation to conduct accurate take-offs
· Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to gather competitive pricing
· Collaborate with Project Managers to ensure successful project handoff
· Maintain historical cost data and provide insight to improve future estimating accuracy
· Participate in post-project reviews to measure estimate accuracy and improve processes
What We’re Looking For
· Required:
· 3–5 years of estimating experience (preferably in roadway or heavy civil construction)
· Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid
· Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs, and documentation
· Strong math, problem-solving, and analytical skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
· Preferred:
· Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field
· Previous hands-on experience in roadway construction
· Familiarity with union labor considerations and practices
