Loc Performance Products, LLC now known as American Rheinmetall, provides full services for complex mechanical products, fabricated structures and systems that range from complete design services to prototype manufacturing, testing, production launch, full rate production and product service and sustainment. AR provides quality products and services at affordable prices through a lean organizational structure and four facilities, three in Michigan that span 910,000 square feet, and one in Ohio, that span 800,000 square feet. The Plymouth, MI facility serves as corporate headquarters and specializes in suspension, driveline, and track systems. The Lansing and Lapeer Michigan based facilities specialize in fabrications and armor product solutions. AR's St. Mary’s, Ohio facility manufactures rubber track products for agricultural, construction, and defense industries.
Maintenance Manager
Summary Seeking a dynamic proactive individual with organizational prowess who utilizes knowledge of facilities & equipment to plan, organize, and direct all maintenance functions for a designated shift.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
  • Research and purchase required outside materials when needed.
  • Perform studies and coordinate process improvements
  • Participate and drive cost savings projects
  • Assist engineering department with installation of projects when needed.
  • Assist with internal customer activities/support as requested
  • Lead a team of union and non-union employees
  • Work closely with vendors and contactors
  • Keep plant running through quick response of maintenance team and/or preventative maintenance measures
  • Assess the labor, material and time needed to complete a maintenance
  • Assign manpower and equipment as necessary to repair and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assign duties accordingly
  • Assist in coordinating, organizing, and directing activities of maintenance crews
  • Direct both planned preventative maintenance activities and work through equipment breakdown scenarios.
  • Implement the safety program’s goals to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Identify problem(s), gather the appropriate information, and analyze in an effective manner.
  • Use technical knowledge, equipment documentation, safety procedures, and maintenance schedules to follow, improve, and develop preventative and routine maintenance programs
  • Devise and implement cost saving strategies
  • Work with internal customers to coordinate downtime required for maintenance needs.
  • Maintain compliance with FDA, OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Conduct safety training and guide maintenance team in safe operating practices in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Maintains and repairs buildings' plumbing and electrical systems, including replacing worn or defective parts such as light bulbs, switches and fuses.
  • Direct report to the Plant Manager and coordinates with and confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, models, drawings and technical specifications.
  • Extensive working knowledge of manufacturing practices in a diverse range of processes.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Prior Management experience preferred
  • Prior Maintenance experience required.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and varying environment.
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Prior experience with writing and troubleshooting PLC programs & hardware, especially Allen Bradley.
  • Associate’s degree (A. S.) in an Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or other technical discipline or applicable years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Manufacturing software and Word Processing software.
